FAQ
How much space do I need to install this ceiling airer?
We recommend a balcony width of approximately 95 cm or more.
You will also need a suitable wall for the manual winch, with at least approximately 30 cm of available width, and a clear path around the corner guide for the wire rope.
The standard configuration is suitable for ceiling heights up to approximately 3 m.
If your ceiling is higher than 3 m, please contact EaseRack before ordering.
What is the difference between the 1.5 m, 2.0 m and 2.4 m versions?
The overall structure is the same, but the number of hanger holes and crossbars varies by length:
- 1.5 m: 16 hanger holes + 8 crossbars
- 2.0 m: 24 hanger holes + 12 crossbars
- 2.4 m: 30 hanger holes + 15 crossbars
Choose the length based on your available installation space and how many hanging positions you need.
How does the rack raise and lower?
Turn the wall-mounted crank to raise or lower the complete drying rack.
The winch, wire rope and pulley system move the rack vertically, so no electricity is required.
The maximum lowering distance is approximately 1.8 m.
Does the whole rack move together?
Yes.The complete drying frame raises and lowers together. The individual rods and drying sections cannot be raised or lowered independently.
How much weight can it hold?
The complete system has a total rated load of up to 50 kg when installed correctly with suitable structural fixings and an evenly distributed load.
The 50 kg rating applies to the whole drying rack, not to each individual rod.
What can I hang on the different rods and crossbars?
The Multi-Rod model includes:
- 2 main hanging rods with individual hanger holes for everyday garments
- 2 lower drying rails for sheets, duvet covers and other larger laundry
- 8–15 crossbars, depending on the selected length, for additional drying and hanging positions
This layout gives you different ways to arrange everyday laundry without using floor space.
Can the lower drying rails be folded away?
Yes. The lower drying rails can be folded when they are not needed, helping you adjust the drying layout according to the laundry you are hanging.
What ceiling types are suitable?
Installation must be fixed to a suitable supporting structure. Plasterboard or suspended ceilings are suitable only when secure structural fixing is possible above them.
How many fixing points are required?
You need 4 ceiling suspension points, 1 corner-guide fixing point, and a suitable wall position for the manual winch.
Can I install it on an uncovered balcony?
We recommend indoor or sheltered balcony use rather than fully exposed outdoor installation.
